From CNN report (Click
HERE
to see the source):

Rescue workers struggled to clear rubble and bodies Wednesday from
the streets of Haiti's "flattened" capital, where a government official
said the death toll from Tuesday's 7.0-magnitude earthquake may exceed
100,000.

Different resources report different estimates of death toll, but it
appears to be in high tens of of thousands.

Update from the administration of VISOTRADE:

Dear customers ,
A massive earthquake hit Haiti late Tuesday, killing hundreds of people and wounding many more. The quake, measuring 7 on the Richter scale, has caused widespread damage in and around the capital Port-au-Prince, leaving a large number of people homeless and hungry.

The people of Haiti need food assistance as quickly as possible to prevent hunger worsening the misery already caused by the disaster.

This is said to be Haiti\'s worst quake in two centuries. Every hour we wait means more lives are at risk. https://www.wfp.org/

We have made a donation and will continue to do it . If you can, please visit the website of World Food Program and make whatever donations you could. Nothing is too small. Please note that we do not directly accept any donations. One of the best organizations that could quickly get your donations to where it is needed is World Food Program.

Haiti Earthquake
We are following the tragic events in Haiti and as many of you, we could not stand still and watch the suffering caused by the earthquake. At the board meeting yesterday we have decided to donate $50,000 from our corporate profits to Medicins Sans Frontieres (www.msf.org.uk), a non-profit organization working to help Haitians overcome the consequences of this tragedy.

Genius Funds Program Details are HERE

Please post reports of your donations and the name of organization.
This is very important matter and this is not the time to be shy to show that you care and others will follow.
Every $10 counts.
Small drops form brooks, that form rivers, that fill the ocean, that keeps us all alive and there are a lot of human lives in Haiti at stake.

UPDATE from Golden Fleece Fund
Subject: "Haiti Needs Our Help"

Hello,

This is Felix Zeller with Golden Fleece Fund. As everyone very well knows, Haiti suffered pure devastation after enduring a massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. The damage to buildings is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated to be over 100,000. The country is in pure ruin and needs a global helping hand. With our global investor base, we think we can help make a difference as well.

Golden Fleece Fund has contributed $5,000 to the Red Cross as well as a $2,500 telephone pledge tonight during the broadcast of Hope for Haiti Concert that was viewed all over the world.

You can donate to the red cross or you can also visit http://www.hopeforhaitinow.org/ the homepage of the benefit concert that was seen all over the world on television. Donations can be done via several different means. Please do your part; whatever you can.

In late February or early March I am looking to go down to Haiti with a small group that specializes in water filtration systems. I have been on a trip with them to Ecuador and have seen an amazing change in the lives of several villages just from one system being installed. Having access to fresh water will save countless lives of those who survived the devastation.

Thank you for thinking about Haiti.

Sincerely,
Felix Zeller

I donated $20 using text messaging.
I mean, I sent two messages, but haven't seen the phone bill yet. I assume there will be two by $10 charges, which is what I understood how this works.
Anyone else has experience with texting donations?

Interesting rescue story came out today.
A man was pulled out alive today and he was in relatively good health condition. At a time of earthquake 11 days ago he was in the food store and he was a worker there. He survived eating cookies and drinking beer, which is what he was lucky being able to reach. He knew there were other people trapped nearby, but he said "I stop hearing them some two days ago".
